CorSport: Not perfect but consistent – 11-game run shows Milan’s progress under Allegri

The draw against Parma left a bitter taste in the mouth for AC Milan going into the November break, but Massimiliano Allegri’s stock remains high.

The draw in Parma left nobody satisfied, especially because of the way that it came about. To be two goals up inside the opening half an hour against a side who had scored five league goals all season and were one point above the bottom three meant that a win had to be the outcome.

Yet, it was not as Carlos Cuesta’s side came roaring back, scoring either side of the break to get a vital point. Nevertheless, there are some positives regarding Milan’s run that Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress) were keen to point out.

Run continues

Milan’s unbeaten run extended to 10 games in Serie A, 11 in all competitions if you also count the victory in the Coppa Italia against Lecce. The Rossoneri are the only big team fighting for the top places to have lost just once in the league.

Numbers like this haven’t been seen since Pioli’s time (22 consecutive games without defeat between January and September 2022). So, for over three years there has been nothing close to this level of continuity at Milan.

It goes to show that the new era under Allegri is by no means perfect, but the improvements compared to previous seasons are clear and can already be seen now. As Max himself says, if you cannot win a game then you must not lose.
