CorSport: ‘Revolving doors’ – Milan eye three strikers ahead of January but sale is needed

5 days ago 27

As was the case in the summer, if another striker is to arrive at AC Milan, other parts must move. So, with January nearing, what could occur?

Santiago Gimenez’s time with Milan looks more likely to be over than not at this moment. The Mexican never hit the ground running and whilst he may grow further, he is not what the Rossoneri need right now.

As a secondary option, he may be great. However, the pressure is on for him to be the man, and he isn’t that yet. So, it seems that he will leave the club in January or maybe in the summer.

One out, one of three in?

As Corriere dello Sport writes, via MilanNews, the chances of him staying are reducing and the possibility of an exit is ‘becoming increasingly concrete’. In August, the door almost closed, but he fought to keep it open.

He has not made good of this chance, though, so a departure is probably the best option for everyone.

If he is to leave, it would allow someone else to arrive – a revolving doors type situation again – and three names are in the picture.

Niclas Fullkrug is the first name, but he is not preferred, nor is Fabio Silva, who is seen as a ‘gamble option’. In an ideal world, Igli Tare would like to bring Jean Philippe Mateta, recent reports state he wants to move to Italy, and the Rossoneri could offer the chance to do so.
