AC Milan want to have an ambitious summer transfer window, and they know that getting the right striker will be important.
Speaking to journalists in a behind closed doors press conference late last month, Igli Tare confirmed the club are hunting for a new centre-forward. He even revealed that Milan want someone with characteristics very similar to Olivier Giroud.
Speaking in a MilanNews column earlier this week, Antonio Vitiello stated that there is a generous budget available for the acquisition of a new number nine. He believes it will be around €40-50m.
The dream name
According to Corriere dello Sport, the main objective for the summer is to sign a top striker, to be placed alongside Santiago Gimenez in order to create healthy competition for him and a useful tactical alternative for Allegri’s plans.
In this period, Tare is evaluating a whole series of names, aware that most likely the right opportunity will arrive late in the market when there is a scramble from agents and clubs to move players around.
Who knows, a chance could open up for Serhou Guirassy, a striker for whom Borussia Dortmund are asking €70m. The name of Aleksandar Mitrovic, 30-year-old at Al-Hilal, remains alive, with a much lower price tag.
