In the coming weeks, AC Milan will attempt to finalise the contract renewals of at least a couple of players, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport talks about Milan’s planning for the future, with the number one target for January being a Strasbourg striker who is in red-hot form. However, the management are also thinking about securing some current players long-term too.
The latest on renewals
At the top of the list is the contract of Alexis Saelemaekers, a valuable player for Massimiliano Allegri, who insisted on retaining him at all costs this summer despite Roma’s pressure.
The Belgian has a deal that runs until 2027, but work is underway with his entourage to extend it to 2029 at least. Contacts have already taken place and the desire to continue together is evident.

The same goes for English defender Fikayo Tomori. Meetings have been held with his agent, and the idea is to extend the deal beyond the current 2027 deadline. An extension with a pay rise is ready for the former Chelsea man.
Milan would also like to extend Christian Pulisic’s contract, but no meetings have been scheduled with his entourage at this time. The American’s contract expires in 2027, but the club can trigger a clause for a extension until 2028, so there’s no immediate cause for concern.
Mike Maignan’s contract extension, however, is complicated. The captain appears determined to leave at the end of his contract with the Rossoneri in less than a year, despite management’s attempts to retain him.
