AC Milan and Inter have requested a discount for their deal to buy San Siro, and it has not gone down well at a higher level.
It seems it is just a case of ironing out the final stages for Milan and Inter with regard to purchasing their home. In the last decade, there have been several bumps in the road when both clubs have looked at moving away.
Now, though, it seems they will stay together, at their current home and work on a new stadium, with help from some developers. Until the stadium is bought, though, there will remain a feeling of doubt and worry.

‘Lack of public interest’
Yesterday, it was reported that the clubs have attempted to amend the agreement, seeking a €30 million discount due to costs incurred. Whilst a decision is not expected for another month, it has left some unhappy, as MilanNews relays comments from Democratic Party councillor Alessandro Giungi.
“The news that the Municipality intends to deduct €30 million from the €197 million that the real estate funds that control AC Milan and Inter Milan will pay for the ownership of San Siro and the surrounding areas is truly disconcerting.
“And that these €30 million, according to a short-sighted interpretation, are ‘due’ because the stadium law requires the Municipality to cover the remediation costs for the construction of a new stadium.
“No one is forcing the use of this law; if the funds are requesting its application, the lack of any public interest in the entire operation should be even clearer.”
