Crystal Palace chief asked if Liverpool target Marc Guehi will be sold - 'Yes'

Marc Guehi will be offloaded during this transfer window if Crystal Palace receives the right offer, chairman Steve Parish confirmed following Sunday's game.

The Selhurst Park supremo has also cautioned that the Eagles will have restricted spending power due to the "crazy" sums still owed for previous acquisitions. Liverpool is believed to be seriously interested in signing Guehi this summer.

The England centre-back, 25, has reached the final 12 months of his deal, meaning Palace faces the prospect of losing its skipper for nothing next summer. The London outfit rejected Newcastle's third approach last summer following Joachim Andersen's departure to Fulham, with Parish disclosing that another January bid materialised for Guehi.

The defender's former employer, Chelsea, also requires additional defensive reinforcement after Levi Colwill's ACL operation.

When questioned in Wembley's mixed zone following the penalty shootout triumph over Liverpool whether Guehi would depart if a suitable proposal emerged, Parish responded: "Yes, yes.

"Of course, for players of that calibre to leave on a free, it is a problem for a football club. There is no doubt about it, unfortunately. Joachim went and we couldn't afford to lose both of them. We then had another bid in January but that was a difficult decision as well. We will just have to see what happens. It needs a new contract or a conclusion of some kind."

Palace continues to demand £50 million ($67.3 million) for Guehi, while FA Cup final hero Eberechi Eze remains in Arsenal's sights. Parish continued: "In the end, people trade players. That is what football clubs do.

"Of course, if you don't care about tomorrow ever and put it all off, we are a fantastic team. If we had four more players, I don't know what we could achieve.

"Unfortunately it is not always as simple as that. We have got a lot of outgoings this year because we are paying a lot of transfer fees for players that we have already got. If you see the fees, there are just nuts. The money we are paying, crazy.

"We will have to see. We will do whatever we can. We won't stop working. But as far as people being here or not being here, it depends. If it is the right decision for the football club and for them, there will be changes. But we have got to make smart ones."

Boss Oliver Glasner has voiced his disappointment over the sluggish transfer business this summer, with just two fresh arrivals, including a reserve goalkeeper secured on a free - completed thus far.

"I admire Oliver so much," Parish added. "He just wants to win trophies. I don't mind that he wants to do that and I think someone at the football club should do that. I have other things to worry about and the Premier League is crazy, what people spend. The financial jeopardy.

"So I have to look at everything else but don't think for a minute I want to do anything other than support them and do everything I can.

"At some points you have to recycle your squad. We will do everything we can in the next few weeks to give us the best chance we can. It is a really tough one. We will do everything we can in the next few weeks to give ourselves the best chance. I am aware we are in four competitions. But at the end of the day, the money we have is not infinite."
