Interest in Davide Bartesaghi is growing, with clubs from abroad apparently readying bids for the rising AC Milan star.

In a recent Substack article we explored the dilemma that Milan face when it comes to Bartesaghi. He is already a fan-favourite as a boyhood supporter of the club who has seized a starting spot at 19, but as cases like the Sandro Tonali sale show us, every player has a price with this ownership.

Bartesaghi: Arsenal, Man City and Madrid keen

Now, according to the Daily Briefing, one ‘well-connected source with links to the agents industry’ told them that Arsenal have put Bartesaghi on their January shortlist. Milan value him at around €45m, and a deal in the middle of the season doesn’t currently look realistic.

As a result, it seems that the Gunners are more likely to have to wait for next summer to try and get their man. Manchester City and Real Madrid are also mentioned, and it’s expected that the list of clubs monitoring Bartesaghi ‘will only keep on growing in the months ahead’.

Arsenal’s recruitment team have also highlighted Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown as a possible option for the left-back role, one where Mikel Arteta is well-covered but also keen on adding to the competition.

At present, given his rapid rise and attachment to the club, the idea of Bartesaghi leaving mid-season for €45m or even less seems far-fetched. However, money does talk, especially with Premier League clubs having a lot of it.
