Leeds could be without its front pairing against Liverpool after Daniel Farke revealed two more injury scares for his side ahead of Saturday's game.
The Reds head to Elland Road needing a win in order to ease some of the pressure on head coach Arne Slot at the moment. Despite a much-needed victory over West Ham last weekend, Liverpool reverted back to its recent poor performances in the midweek draw with Sunderland.
And a trip to Elland Road looks a much more daunting prospect than it did just a few days ago following Leeds’ win over Chelsea on Wednesday, although Saturday's opposition may have been dealt some major setbacks after that victory.
Farke has revealed both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha are doubtful to face Liverpool. The pair started up front against Chelsea after both scoring against Manchester City last weekend, with the former on the scoresheet again in the win over the Blues.
“We'll have to take some late decisions like always when you have such a quick turnaround,” Farke said in his press conference on Thursday.
“We have a few players who are a bit more of a major doubt. Lukas Nmecha has hamstring problems after the last game, and we have to assess if he is really available.
“Dominic Calvert-Lewin has some calf problems, so there's a question mark over his availability.
“We also have players with lots of load, not just in this game but over the course of the last games, especially in the positions where you have to invest a lot, like the wing-back or the midfield positions. We'll have to see who's fully recovered.”
Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha’s injuries could provide further blows to a Leeds side already without Dan James and Sean Longstaff, who aren’t expected back until the New Year.
Saturday's game ends a tough run for Leeds, having already had to face four of the Premier League’s top seven from last season in their most recent games.

“We need during this period the whole squad, especially with three games against opponents where you always have to go over the limit,” Farke added. “In this type of games, we have to go over the limit to be competitive.
“Chelsea had their second-highest physical output in the whole season, but we outperformed them in these terms so much.
“When you have such a quick turnaround, you always have to be careful. When I speak to the lads, everyone will say they are ready to go, but I have to watch them in training, how they behave, and speak with our medical department, our sports science, our doctors.
“Whoever will be on the pitch, I guarantee they will be giving everything for Leeds United.”
