Darwin Nunez has been responding to every message from his former Liverpool teammates on social media, following the confirmation of his transfer to Al-Hilal over the weekend.
After three years at Liverpool, during which he made 143 appearances and netted 40 goals, Nunez has bid farewell to the club. Regarding the transfer, Liverpool released a statement saying: "The 2024-25 term turned out to be his final one with the Reds, and he would complete his career on Merseyside by hoisting the Premier League trophy aloft.
"Nunez's pair of stoppage-time finishes to snatch victory away at Brentford in January was an undoubted vital moment and highlight of the historic season.
"Everybody at the club would like to thank Darwin for his contributions and wish him and his family all the best for the future."
Several of Nunez's ex-teammates sent him messages on social media, to which the Uruguay striker has since replied via his Instagram stories.
In response to Ibrahima Konate, he wrote: "Thank you so much, I miss you hermanito (little brother)."
Nunez responded to Stefan Bajcetic in Spanish, which translates to: "Brother, I will miss you and thanks for those chats we had in the gym, wishing the best for you."
To Gakpo, Nunez replied: "Thank you brother, all the best for you."
"Hermano (brother), thank you, all the best to you," he said in response to Harvey Elliott.
"Andy, my brother, thank you so much, I'm going to miss your jokes," Nunez expressed about Andy Robertson.
Regarding Curtis Jones, the forward stated: "My friend, you're an incredible person, always trying to make me smile with your jokes. I'll miss you and I wish you the best. Thank you for everything," followed by a love heart.
Nunez posted an emotional message to Liverpool fans on social media on Sunday.
"Thank you, Liverpool," he wrote on X. "Three years on, it’s time to say goodbye.
"I’ll take with me countless memories that will live with me forever. I leave with a full heart, thanks to the love of the crowd that never let me down and always had my back - through the highs and through lows.
"Liverpool will always be part of who I am. I’ll miss you more than words can say. To all the staff and team-mates - thank you, and all the very best for the future."
