DAZN: Modric the coach, Maignan’s speech, angry Allegri – Milan-Lecce seen up close

This weekend, AC Milan got the better of Lecce for the second time since their unbeaten run began, and some footage from the game has been released.

Sunday’s performance was not a textbook one, but it was very much needed. Despite several setbacks with offside calls in the first half, and Lecce defending superbly in a low-block, Milan eventually got the better of them.

It was certainly not pretty, and Niclas Fullkrug scored a textbook poacher’s goal to secure the three points. However, that will not frustrate Massimiliano Allegri. After all, his side got the job done, and that is what matters.

Behind the scenes

Now, footage has been released from DAZN in the latest episode of Bordocam, and MilanNews have relayed the words from the game.

First, Claudio Filippi spoke to Mike Maignan before the game.

Listen to me, it’s crucial: stay in the present, stay focused on what’s happening right now. What’s happening before, to others, on the pitch, teammates, opponents, stay focused on what’s happening to you, do your thing, like you did there at the end. For me, that was fantastic. That’s it, just stay focused on the game: it’s important, Mike!”

The rest of the footage shows a few clips, with limited citations, unfortunately. In the first half, Massimiliano Allegri was seen turning to his bench on several occasions, speaking to Luka Modric, almost like an assistant coach, with the Italian only getting more frustrated about his team.

In the second half, Fullkrug can be heard shouting ‘put me in’ before the corner which he almost scored, and just seconds before the goal, Allegri requested ‘more venom’ from his team. An intriguing watch, certainly.
