With the French National Team being announced this afternoon, Didier Deschamps spoke about the increasing number of games, and also an issue close to AC Milan.
There has been a massive focus on the French squad today, with Milan hoping to keep Adrien Rabiot at Milanello over the break, and this request has been followed; the midfielder will stay in Italy. A huge boost for the club.
Whilst Deschamps didn’t speak about the topic massively, he touched on a similar note in regards to PSG, and the situation can also be applied to the Rossoneri, as MilanNews relayed.
“I wouldn’t dare say anything about any club [referencing PSG]; they decide, they have the information to decide. Just like us. There have always been exchanges, as in the case of Ousmane’s injury. When tests are carried out, they are communicated in both directions.
“Of course, the interests of clubs and the interests of national teams are not the same. But there have always been exchanges regarding tests and diagnoses. I’m not here to change the medical protocol. Whether clubs can be given more decision-making power than national teams is not for me to decide.”

Maignan wishes
Then, the French head coach was questioned about the future of Mike Maignan, a topic which will intrigue many Milanisti. After all, the Diavolo will lose their captain in the summer if things do not resolve soon.
A ‘final’ attempt is being made at the moment, and updates are rather scarce. However, Deschamps has offered his view on the situation today, again via MilanNews.
“In the past, I’ve had players sign contracts during competitions like the World Cup. It’s not up to me; it’s a matter of discussion with the clubs. Today, the influence is less; I think the players are taking it more calmly. Nonetheless, ideally, sorting out your personal situation before a major competition is the best thing.”
