Eusebio Di Francesco spoke to Lecce’s official channel ahead of the game against AC Milan tomorrow, admitting that it will be a difficult clash for them.
20 games into the season, with 17 points to their name, it’s clear that Lecce could have done a lot better. The relegation zone is just three points away and with Fiorentina seemingly picking up steam, the pressure is on Di Francesco and his men.
In the mid-week round, they faced Inter (also at San Siro) and were a bit unlucky not to get a point from the game. On the other hand, that game showed Lecce that they can compete at the stadium, and it will surely act as motivation for tomorrow.
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel, as there was no press conference, Di Francesco shared his thoughts on the game. He also highlighted that there are some doubts regarding the starting eleven, which he will need to decide.
On the game…
“We need to retrace the path we took against Inter, adding a few more adjustments. We’re facing a strong opponent with a lot of quality, but we need to be careful not to repeat the mistake we made when we conceded against Inter.
“Milan have important, high-quality players, and they can rotate a lot in midfield and up front. Just like Inter, they can bring on players midway through the match and cause us problems.”
On the starting XI…
“Ramadani and Banda, regardless of whether they can start or not, give me the ability to make decisions, whether at the start or at the end of the match. I still have to choose a replacement for Danilo Veiga, who has always played lately. I’ll evaluate the options,” he stated.
