Mike Maignan’s renewal with AC Milan seems to really be one step away now, with the commissions issue now resolved.

The story regarding Maignan’s Milan future has really done a U-turn in recent weeks. From what seemed like an almost certain departure on a free transfer in June, a glimmer of hope has grown and grown in brightness.

Recent reports from various reliable sources have spoken of a change in stance from Maignan, who is now open to penning fresh terms and committing his future to the Rossoneri, with factors such as his relationship with the new coaches cited.

Commissions resolved

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the final meeting for Maignan’s contract renewal with Milan has been set for the next few days. The directors have scheduled a final summit with the French goalkeeper and his agent in which the final details will be ironed out.

The expiration date of the former Lille man’s new contract is yet to be determined. The options currently on the table are 2030 with an option for an extra year, or 2031 without an option.
