After reaching an agreement with AC Milan to sign Emerson Royal, Flamengo also expressed an interest in the Rossoneri winger Noah Okafor. However, per a report, the player isn’t convinced by the move.
Emerson Royal is just one step away from joining the Brazilian side, with medical tests scheduled for today, and Milan are happy with the €9m transfer fee (plus €1m in bonuses) all things considered. During the negotiations, interest for another outcast was also expressed.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Flamengo have been in contact with Okafor over a potential move to the club this summer. However, while Emerson Royal was eager to switch Besiktas for the Brazilian side, the winger isn’t too convinced about leaving Europe.
In other words, Milan will most likely have to look elsewhere for a solution this summer. Bologna have also expressed an interest and could perhaps convince the player, even if a salary decrease should be inevitable wherever he goes.
For the time being, Okafor is in Asia with the Milan squad for the pre-season tour. He featured in the game against Arsenal on Wednesday, but he didn’t impress and then he also missed his penalty in the shootout. He didn’t exactly prove the Rossoneri wrong in their assessment.
