Everyone at AC Milan is aware that some reinforcements are needed in January. However, getting the right player (or players) in will not be easy.
Getting transfers right in winter is tough. Milan, especially, have seen that in recent years, so this year it must be better. Deals, ultimately, must be done with precaution and little risk. Look at last year, for example.
In 2025, the Rossoneri signed several players, hoping that they would turn around a dire-looking season. Instead, the Diavolo are now stuck with a €30 million striker, who has not scored a goal in Serie A since May.

Harsh, maybe. However, especially without European football, there is not a lot of margin for error financially.
Difficult in January
With a striker and defender ideally joining in January, then the Rossoneri must analyse potential signings meticulously to ensure that they will add value, not take it away. A difficult task indeed, as Gianluca Di Marzio stated on his YouTube channel, via MilanNews.
“There’s little news, few updates so far. The idea is that Milan wants to do something in January, but that’s impossible given the limited opportunities on the market. The striker is certainly a key focus for the Milan management.
“It’s difficult to find a lifeline in January. Last year, Gimenez arrived for a significant fee. We all thought he was the right man, but he’s not delivering on the investment.”
