Newcastle are ready to table an improved offer for Malick Thiaw, having seen their first one rejected by AC Milan, according to a report.
Just a few days ago, it was reported that Milan had rejected a €30m offer from Newcastle for the centre-back. Max Allegri has been impressed with his performances during the pre-season and as such, the price tag is higher in the eyes of the Rossoneri.
Furthermore, knowing that Premier League clubs have a lot of money to spend, Milan obviously want to get as much as possible out of a potential sale. Potential indeed, as it’s not certain that Igli Tare will sanction a sale before the window closes.
New offer expected today
According to Gianluca Di Marzio this morning, Newcastle are ready to table an improved offer for Thiaw today, convinced that they can get a deal over the line. The first offer, as confirmed by the journalist, amounted to €30m.

The player’s will is expected to be decisive as, in the event that he accepts the move, Milan could succumb to the pressure and accept the offer. They also have Parma’s Giovanni Leoni in their sights for the backline and to sign him, Thiaw would need to be sold.
Sadly, Di Marzio’s report didn’t say anything about the figures of the new offer, so we will have to wait and see on that front.
