Di Marzio states Milan are ‘trying’ to make a move for Goretzka in June: “If there is scope”

This summer, there are several players who will be out of contract, and AC Milan could look to take a punt on one or two players.

Mike Maignan’s deal is one of the biggest in world football to expire in the summer, but it seems that Milan are heading in the right direction for him to renew. However, other clubs may have different ideas when it comes to other talents.

Bernardo Silva has been a long-standing target for Milan, and Robert Lewandowski is a similar idea. Both could add experience and talent to a squad which has already been boosted by those traits last summer.

With both available for free, there are also opportunities, which seems to be a buzzword for the management.

Two midfield opportunities

Today, ahead of the nearing pre-contract openings, Gianluca Di Marzio has spoken to Sky Sports about the options on the cards and MilanNews have relayed his words.

“There are some players whose contracts expire in June, some very important ones, who are attracting attention.

“One is Bernardo Silva, who has been linked to Como, Napoli, and Juventus; another is Goretzka, who hasn’t yet decided whether to extend his contract with Bayern Munich. AC Milan have also inquired.

“They are trying to determine if there is scope to understand the player’s wishes and, above all, his financial demands: the midfielder is 31 years old.”
