AC Milan should very soon complete a change in the goalkeeping department, with Marco Sportiello set to be replaced.

According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio, there is set to be a ‘goalkeeping domino effect’ involving Pietro Terracciano and Marco Sportiello. The former will leave Fiorentina to join Milan, as the deputy to first choice starter Mike Maignan.

The latter will thus leave Milan after three years to rejoin Atalanta under Ivan Juric. The players’ farewells and departures are expected today – Wednesday 16 July – when they will go to their respective destinations to sign their contracts.

The two, after saying goodbye to their respective teammates and clearing out their lockers, will arrive in Milan and Bergamo to sign their contracts and begin their new adventures. Therefore, we can expect the medicals of the two Italians to take place this week.

It’s worth noting that the deal involving Sportiello will be a direct transfer from Rossoneri to La Dea, rather than the termination of his contract (which was one of the options) and subsequent signing on a free.

Terracciano is a couple of years older than Sportiello at 35. During his time with Fiorentina he played 156 games, being the starter for a few seasons, letting in 185 goals with 43 clean sheets to his name.

Meanwhile, Luca Bendoni of the Di Marzio team states: “AC Milan are in talks with Cremonese for the permanent sale of GK Lapo Nava. Milan will keep a sell-on %.”
