AC Milan are in talks with Fikayo Tomori over the extension of his contract and talks are progressing, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
Tomori has been a mainstay in the Milan side since joined Milan on an initial loan deal in the January window during the 2020-21 season from Chelsea. He won the Scudetto the next season and was part of the team that reached the Champions League semi-final in 2022-23.
Through a bit of a rollercoaster in terms of his own performance levels and those of the team, he has remained a key member of the defence under Massimiliano Allegri. On Wednesday, it was claimed he has rejected the chance to return to the Premier League too, in order to renew with Milan.
Tomori renewal: progress made
Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano published a video on their YouTube channel in which they gave an update on Mario Gila – confirming that Milan are interested – before then speaking about a defender currently on the books.
“The mission of Milan to renew the contract of Fikayo Tomori continues, a conversation that we had with you a few months ago here on the channel and is ongoing with his agents,” he said.

“I think we talked about it already in September, when there were still no rumours about Tomori. I said that, in fact, Milan intended to renew Tomori’s contract. I said that they had started negotiations and I can confirm that the dialogues are progressing.
“We’re not yet in the final phase of the situation of the renewal operation. There are still some steps to go, some meetings, but Milan are continuing to work hard on this kind of situation.”
