AC Milan are waiting to make a decision on a move for Miguel Gutierrez, however, he has faced a setback, which may be unattractive.
With Archie Brown going elsewhere, Milan are back in the left-back mercato immediately, even if this was the plan still with Brown. It is now two targets which the Rossoneri have lost out on this summer, after Maxim De Cuyper went to Brighton.
There is still time to move, though, and the Diavolo cannot rush into moves without fully considering everything.
Gutierrez’s setback
This must be the case with Gutierrez, who, as Diario AS reports, has recently undergone surgery to file down a bone in his ankle. It is an issue which he has struggled with since January, and due to him not stopping playing, the problem worsened.
So, on Thursday, he had surgery to fix the issue, or at least attempt to. As a result, he will be sidelined for at least six weeks taking us near the end of August. Milan and Napoli are considering moves for the Spaniard, however, whether they will be keen to wait so long remains to be seen.
Further evaluations will certainly be needed, and others may need to be considered.
