AC Milan are in Saturday night Serie A action at San Siro, as they welcome Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio hoping to go top, even if temporarily.
Milan come into the game in a good place mentally after beating Inter in the derby last Sunday. However, Lazio seem to be back on course after a rough start to the season, and are always tough opposition when Maurizio Sarri is involved.
Today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport
Below is how today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport looks this morning, with none of the other papers having published an edition today due to there being a strike in Italy on Friday.
Front page: “Milan suits him well. Lazio at San Siro, Modric attempting to make the leap. The Diavolo dream of the top spot with the Croatian Ballon d’Or winner, who has so far played every Serie A match. The eternal battle between Allegri, the Scudetto-winning coach, and Sarri, the aesthete.”
Pages 2-3: “The Diavolo are dreaming big. Modric is relentless, and for the Scudetto there’s the Lazio trap. Nkunku-Leao up front, Pulisic is out. In the stands at San Siro will also be the national team coach Gattuso.”
Page 5: “Allegri-Sarri: football at opposite ends of the spectrum. Results or style? The Tuscans, divided by the dilemma. Max for his practicality and sharing with the club. Maurizio, the aesthete, constantly arguing with everyone.”
Page 7: “Mini Maignan. Longoni the little star. #ACMilan have another penalty saver at home. The goalkeeper blocked two penalties against Brazil in the U17 World Cup final and is one of the jewels of the Rossoneri youth system.”
