AC Milan have reportedly decided not to go any further with their interest in Granit Xhaka, for various different reasons.
It is no secret that Milan are looking for another midfielder. Tijjani Reijnders was sold to Manchester City, while Samuele Ricci was made official last week and Luka Modric will follow him next week.
Xhaka is among the names that has been linked most consistently, with recent reports suggesting that the player has said yes to the move, and Fabrizio Romano even went on to claim that personal terms had been agreed.
Milan cool Xhaka interest
In recent days, there has been talk of Juventus going in for after discussions in recent weeks between Milan and Bayer Leverkusen had come to nothing. Matteo Moretto, a journalist for ESPN and Marca, took stock of the situation in a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel.
“Xhaka is not currently on Juventus’s list. He’s not a target at the moment. Xhaka has an offer from an Arab club, discussions with Milan are stalled, and there’s been no news compared to the last few weeks,” he said (via MilanNews).
Speaking more specifically about the Rossoneri, he went on to say: “Milan didn’t even want to come close to meeting Bayer Leverkusen’s demands due to cost, age, and maturity issues: the deal is currently on hold.”
