Roberto Donadoni has deemed  AC Milan ‘worthy of the Scudetto’ based on the performances so far, with the Rossoneri able to fight for more than just a top-four spot.

Heading into the season, it was clear that Milan had two main targets: to restore the atmosphere after a terrible 2024-25 season and to secure a spot in the top four. However, six games into the season, many would argue that they can fight for the Scudetto.

In fact, had it not been for big chances missed against Juventus, then the Rossoneri would have gone into the international break in first place. Massimiliano Allegri has certainly been able to turn things around quickly, aided by a Luka Modric in great form.

Donadoni’s stamp of approval

In his interview with Tuttosport yesterday, the former Milan player Roberto Donadoni was asked about the Scudetto race. He believes that the Rossoneri have good chances of competing for the Scudetto this season, even if the most recent outing could have been better.

“Milan look good. Perhaps a little less so in the last match against Juventus, where the performance wasn’t up to par with the others. But it’s clear that when the stakes are high, winning becomes more complicated.

“However, I’d say the start is excellent and gives us hope. Allegri certainly deserves some credit. It’s clear that creating a cohesive and united group isn’t easy, and I think that was Milan’s main difficulty last year.

“This year it seems that this problem has been overcome, and we see a different team on the pitch. Is it a team worthy of the Scudetto? From what I’ve seen so far, I’d say yes,” he stated.
