El Desmarque: Milan go cold on Valencia midfielder as Musah sale stalls – renewal offer ready

Despite the intense links earlier in the summer, AC Milan no longer consider Javi Guerra to be a priority target.

According to El Desmarque, Milan and Atlético Madrid have not put Javi Guerra ‘on the back burner’. As the transfer window progresses, agents and clubs receive a response from Valencia that they are not negotiating the departure of the midfielder.

Musah sale needed

Milan have had an offer for the Spain U21 international rejected already. However, the report states that Guerra was being considered as an option only in the vent that Yunus Musah leaves, something that hasn’t happened.

The Rossoneri are not currently thinking about making a major push for Javi, with Ardon Jashari clearly the priority at the moment. However, those close to Guerra believe this isn’t the case and will not rule out calls from Italy in the future.

Atletico Madrid meanwhile had agreed a €25m fee last summer for Guerra, and Valencia now want more. He has another year of experience and Valencia consider him their flagship player, although they still have to formally submit a renewal offer.

Valencia’s plan is to table a deal that will see his salary tripled at the Mestalla through a gradual increase over the course of the contract, in exchange for extending the current 2027 deadline.
