Estupinan praises teammates after ‘great match’ against Udinese: “Daily, weekly work”

Pervis Estupinan played from start to finish in AC Milan’s 3-0 win against Udinese last night. Afterwards, he shared his thoughts on the wing-back role, the relationship with Allegri, and more.

It was always going to be a difficult task to replace Theo Hernandez, but Estupinan is improving with each game that passes. Last night’s display was certainly his best of the season, offering more composure in possession and many overlapping runs.

Speaking to MilanTV after the game, as transcribed by MilanNews, Estupinan expressed great joy over the recent results. He also praised Massimiliano Allegri for keeping things light, while also highlighting just how important it is to wear this shirt.

On the game…

“The truth is that we’re very happy. We played a great match. We studied our opponent to see where we could attack, and we did. Now we’re going home with the three points together.

“Thanks to my teammates, to the fans who supported us, and nothing else. I’m happy, and we need to keep going and focus on Tuesday.”

How are you feeling now?

“Good. It’s the result of daily, weekly work. I play with very good players, both with their feet like Modric and with great concentration like Pavlovic. I’m getting along very well with my teammates and I’m improving game after game.”

How are you getting along with Allegri?

“Very, very good. He’s a very cheerful coach, who jokes a lot, but when it comes to work, he gets serious. He’s giving us ideas, he’s telling us how to approach the teams, match after match, and the results are showing.”

The Coppa Italia clash against Lecce, scheduled for Tuesday evening, is next for Milan and Estupinan could potentially get some rest. Napoli will be up after that (next weekend) so it could be a good opportunity to recharge the batteries.
