Roy Hodgson has assumed control of Bristol City for the rest of the season following the Championship club's decision to dismiss Gerhard Struber.
Hodgson, the former England and Liverpool boss, will manage the club's final seven matches of the season after agreeing to take on his first role since departing Crystal Palace in February 2024. Struber departs his position after managing just three victories from the Robins' last 13 league matches — a sequence of form which has seen them tumble out of the play-off contention.
The Austrian had been hindered by the sale of key players in the January transfer window, such as club captain Zak Vyner and star midfielder Anis Mehmeti.

"Roy's appointment is about more than the results of the next seven games. Over the remainder of the season, he will help us set the standards and values at the club that we will need to be successful going forwards.
"Roy is a vastly experienced coach who has achieved and won at the highest level.

"He will support me, our players and our football staff as we build towards achieving our potential.
"We are in the process of appointing a Sporting Director who will have a direct input into the recruitment of a new permanent Head Coach."
Hodgson, who previously managed the club in 1982, added: "I have had great conversations with the Board and I am really excited by the opportunity to help until the end of the season.
"We will get straight to work and look for a positive performance on Good Friday."
Liverpool fans will remember Hodgson for his ill-fated spell in charge of the Reds.
After a stellar two-and-a-half-year stint at Fulham, Hodgson was given the Anfield job in July 2010.
He was tasked with replacing Rafa Benitez and expected to secure Champions League qualification.
Yet Hodgson was fired after just 31 games in charge of the Reds, who were struggling in the bottom half of the Premier League table upon his exit.
