FcInterNews: Milan and Inter priced out as Parma believe centre-back could be worth €70m

AC Milan’s pursuit of Giovanni Leoni remains very complicated, both because of the lack of a sale and because of Parma’s asking price.

According to what is being reported by FcInterNews, Parma are not willing to budge an inch on their valuation of Leoni, who is being pursued by Inter and Milan. They have made it clear that they want €40m and not a penny less, which is a huge amount for a player so young.

However, this asking price is driven by the amount of interest Leoni is attracting both within Italy and abroad. The Crociati recently rejected a proposal from Bournemouth that offered €25m plus €5m in bonuses, showing that the price tag is very much €30m+.

Another card in Parma’s favour is the imminent call-up to the national team by new coach Gennaro Gattuso, who has already sent out a sort of preliminary squad for the September international matches.

With the Azzurri showcase and the potential for another great season, the valuation is set to skyrocket to €70m if they are unable to hold onto him for one more year. This is exactly why Parma want to scare off the suitors now, unless they get an offer they cannot refuse.
