Federico Chiesa's barely-believable name for his dog sums up why Liverpool fans love him

Federico Chiesa has revealed that he named one of his dogs after an actor he has never even seen appear in a film!

The Liverpool winger, who emerged as a fan favorite immediately after arriving at Anfield due to his fun personality, was answering fans' questions in a question-and-answer session with Sky Sports, when a question came up about his pets.

He revealed that he had a dog – which he has since given to his mother – that he named after the legendary American actor Marlon Brando. "I had a dog, it was my dog, I gave it to my mother as a present," Chiesa revealed. "I was living in Turin, in an apartment. This dog is an Australian Shepherd, it was very big, it didn't fit in the apartment.

"My mum in Florence, has a garden, has an open space [so it suited the dog more]."

He added: "No I'm not [a Marlon Brando fan], I don't know [why I named it Marlon Brando] – I was just choosing a name, and I went Marlon Brando.

"It has nothing to do with the movies or anything that I've seen, it was just because of Marlon Brando, I guess."

Chiesa was then asked what his favorite film was, and plumped for Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughey.

"One of my favorite films has to be Interstellar," Chiesa said. "I like the universe, I like science. I wasn't good at science at school, but I liked it!"

The question-and-answer session featured plenty of fun questions, which a beaming Chiesa clearly enjoyed answering, and another of them saw him asked to name his 'Italian football Mount Rushmore.'

Naming who he believes the best four Italian players in soccer history to be, he said: "[Paolo] Maldini, [Roberto] Baggio, [Gianluigi] Buffon, and [Andrea] Pirlo.

"In my opinion, Maldini [is the best out of all of them], but some others in Italy might say Baggio because of his technical abilities, but I would say Maldini for what he has won, for everything."

Former Juventus star Chiesa was then asked who he idolized when growing up, and plumped for a star who played for one of Juve's biggest rivals.

"It was Kaka," he responded. "Because I liked to watch AC Milan when I was growing up with my father.

"I was looking at Milan, and I just fell in love with Kaka."
