Fiorentina CEO confirms exit of goalkeeper amid imminent Milan move

Fiorentina’s CEO Alessandro Ferrari has confirmed that Pietro Terracciano will be leaving them, amid rumours he is set to join AC Milan.

Over the past few days there has been talk of a ‘domino effect’ concerning the goalkeeper position. With Marco Sportiello in talks over a return to Atalanta, Milan had to move for a replacement and they seem to have settled on Terracciano.

The 35-year-old will of course arrive to be the deputy to Mike Maignan. During his time with Fiorentina Terracciano played 156 games, letting in 185 goals with 43 clean sheets to his name. He will bring experience to the department, and of course is a home-grown player for the squad list.

Present at the press conference alongside the new coach Stefano Pioli, Fiorentina’s CEO Alessandro Ferrari confirmed the departure of Terracciano, with his comments relayed by MilanPress.

“I want to start with some news. We said goodbye to Terracciano, a boy who gave us so much and whom we thank.”

It is believed that Terracciano will arrive in Milano on Wednesday evening, ahead of undergoing a medical and ultimately signing a contract with the Rossoneri.
