Ahead of the game between AC Milan and Liverpool tomorrow, the Rossoneri midfielder Youssouf Fofana said a few words at the press conference.
After losing 1-0 to Arsenal in the first pre-season friendly, Milan and Max Allegri will be eager to bounce back with a win or at least a draw against Liverpool tomorrow. As stated by the manager during his presser, however, it won’t be an easy game.
That being said, it looks like Allegri will have both Maignan and Fofana back at his disposal for the clash, which is certainly a boost. Whether they will play from start or just get a few minutes, however, is a different question.
Fofana’s press conference
Speaking at the press conference alongside Allegri earlier today, as transcribed by MilanNews, Fofana shared his thoughts on the game and his overall feelings for the upcoming season.
Will the weather conditions affect the game?
“I don’t think anything will change. It’s still football, and it will be the same for both teams during the game.”
What do you expect from the match against Liverpool?
“It’s a tough match because they’re one of the strongest clubs in the world over the last five or six years. It’s a tough match, but it’s good preparation for us: we can’t wait to face them.”
How’s the desire for more consistency going? With the coach and the new staff?
“We’re working on it. It’s something you can’t fix in a week or two. We’ll see in the end if we’ve done it right or not.”
You (as a team) had several problems last season: how do you feel on a personal level?
“I feel good. Last season wasn’t the best for us, but that’s the past. Now we have a new coach, a new staff who wants to inject new energy into our work. We’re working with them.”
What is it like to play pre-season games in different locations?
“It’s very hard, especially on the body.”
