Juventus and AC Milan certainly did not play out a classic at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night, with the sides forced to settle for a 0-0 draw.
Milan’s five-game winning run across all competitions was ended by Juve in a goalless stalemate, with some positives to take from the game but also some bitterness too. Above all, Christian Pulisic missing a penalty and Rafael Leao not taking two big chances leaves a bit of a sour taste.
Juventus vs. Milan: Newspaper ratings
La Gazzetta dello Sport has their ratings from the game in this morning’s edition, and they start by giving Milan’s overall performance and Massimiliano Allegri’s management a score of 6.5 out of 10.
The player of the match in their eyes was Luka Modric, who was given a 7. The worst performer was the substitute Leao, awarded a 5 after the aforementioned missed opportunities.
Mike Maignan also got a 7 and was officially crowned the MVP by the league after a stunning save to deny Federico Gatti. Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia, Strahinja Pavlovic, Youssouf Fofana, Adrien Rabiot and Santiago Gimenez got a 6.5.
Christian Pulisic missed what would have been a decisive spot kick and thus was awarded a 5, while Christopher Nkunku did very little off the bench and got half a point more.
