AC Milan will play their second game of the 2025/26 pre-season tour against Liverpool on Saturday, this time in Hong Kong.
Despite a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last time out, there were a lot of positives to take away. Though Massimiliano Allegri will be hoping his side can beat the reigning Premier League champions, with more time to work on his system.
Conditionally, Allegri felt his side held on well for 60 minutes. Today, he emphasised the importance of being a team and growing together, rather than needing results against a side that has had significantly more money available to them.
Team news
From the first pre-season game, there was not too much to take away. Milan were obviously hampered by a lack of personnel in different areas, and not too much has changed since then. However, the signing of Pervis Estupinan may open up a new possibility.
The left-back has arrived in Hong Kong, so Allegri could be pondering using him in tomorrow’s clash against a familiar opponent. Elsewhere, the Italian hopes to have French duo Mike Maignan and Youssouf Fofana available for selection.
Without a new striker just yet and Santiago Gimenez on holiday, another test will be tried at centre-forward. However, it should not be too different.

Multiple reports are suggesting that Leao was tried as a striker again in training, and it seems likely that Allegri looks to the Portuguese star to lead the line. So it is not unlikely that he starts the game in this role.
Considering Fofana took part in media duties earlier today, it would suggest that he is available for selection, and he could partner Samuele Ricci for the first time since his arrival.
Possible Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic, Estupinan/Bartesaghi; Loftus-Cheek, Ricci, Fofana; Saelemaekers, Leao, Pulisic.
Opposition insight
After winning the Premier League last season, the expectations are for Liverpool to show their class in this summer, with investments being piled into the first team. So far, the club have spent more than €300 million on big signings like Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.
The fact that Alexander Isak is also now a target suggests that the Reds are going to try and create a new period of dominance under Arne Slot. Something which many Rossonero are probably envious of, considering the lack of spending so far.

The Reds have played two games in pre-season so far, firstly against Preston North End and then against Stoke City, where they won by three goals to one and 5-0, respectively. Though against the Diavolo, a more experienced side is expected.
Kerkez is set to start against his former club, whilst the two new boys from Bayer Leverkusen could also take to the field. Mohamed Salah should be part of the front three, with new French forward Ekitike a potential starter.
Rio Ngumoha’s inclusion amongst them is also intriguing. The 16-year-old arrived from Chelsea last year, and hopes are especially high for his future.
Predicted Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Mamardashvili; Frimpong, Konate, Gomez, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Wirtz, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Ngumoha.
