Enzo Maresca will have some crucial decisions to make when naming the Chelsea team to meet Brentford in the Premier League. The Blues take on the Bees in their first match after September's international break on Saturday evening (8pm).
Chelsea go into the game having beaten Fulham 2-0 in their last match before a two-week hiatus from Premier League football. Maresca will be forced to deal with several injury concerns for tonight's clash against Brentford, including Cole Palmer who is a doubt for the clash.
Palmer suffered a groin injury last month and has missed Chelsea's last two matches. Despite returning to training, Maresca admitted the England international is still a doubt for the Blues.
"Cole took part in the session yesterday for the first time - but not the entire session," said Maresca during Friday's press conference. We have one more session this afternoon [Friday] and we are going to try with him to see if he's okay, otherwise he will be out tomorrow [Saturday]."
Chelsea will be without Liam Delap, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo, who are all on the side-lines with injuries. Alejandro Garnacho is also a doubt as Maresca revealed the new Chelsea signing is still building up his fitness following his summer move from Manchester United.
"He's [Garnacho] working well. For sure he needs to work, because he arrived here probably not 100 per cent fit," said Maresca. So he needs to work. He's working well and we'll see. But hopefully soon we can give him minutes."
