Füllkrug ‘absolutely honoured’ after Milan debut: “I already feel at home”

Niclas Füllkrug made his debut for AC Milan last night, coming on for the last 20 minutes against Cagliari, and he was very happy afterwards. 

Having started training with the Rossoneri before the new year, the German striker was eager to make his debut against Cagliari last night. The necessary documents for the transfer were obtained in time and as such, he was included in the squad.

Sure enough, as Rafael Leao couldn’t play the entire game, Massimiliano Allegri decided to bring on Füllkrug for the final 20 minutes of the game. The West Ham loanee did well during his time on the pitch, showcasing strength in the duels, while also combining well with his teammates.

In fact, together with Samuele Ricci and Christian Pulisic, he nearly helped Milan get a second goal but the American’s effort was saved in the end. Nevertheless, the debut was positive and this is something you could tell from Füllkrug’s Instagram post afterwards.
