AC Milan have recently undergone a dry patch in the national team, and whilst Matteo Gabbia ended it, there is a wish to keep growing.
At the start of the summer, there was a goal to Italianise Milan. Whilst that has not really happened, the Rossoneri added Samuele Ricci, who is one of the more important members of the Italian National Team.
Then, Mattia Liberali, Francesco Camarda and Kevin Zeroli, who were all key parts of the Azzurini, departed either permanently or on loan. In other words, it has not been the Italianisation that was probably dreamt of.
Gabbia, Ricci and who?
Nevertheless, the team does not need to be completely Italian, and there is still a possibility of a few National Team call-ups from the Rossoneri. According to Sky Sport journalist Peppe Di Stefano, Gennaro Gattuso was watching three players today, and Garante_Il has relayed his words on X.
“Coach Gattuso at Milanello observed a training session, mainly to take note, in addition to Ricci and Gabbia, of Bartesaghi’s movements, who is impressing well with the first team. Allegri wants him and has permanently included him in the Rossoneri group.”
It will be interesting to see whether Bartesaghi gains senior minutes regularly this season, let alone for the Azzurri.
