AC Milan had to come from behind to beat Fiorentina at San Siro, but they did so thanks to a Rafael Leao brace, claiming top spot in the process.

Milan fell behind to a goal from Robin Gosens early in the second half, but then Leao lit the touch paper and engineered a comeback. The first was a curling strike from range to level things, and the winner inside the final 10 minutes was a calmly taken penalty in an eventual 2-1 victory.

With the Rossoneri returning to the top of the pile, this morning’s papers are dominated by the exploits of the team in yellow.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Only Milan. Leao knocks out Fiorentina, Allegri is top. Rafa turns the game around with a brace. A penalty contested by La Viola proved decisive. Pradè: ‘Huge mistake, a scandal’. Max: ‘I decided who took the penalty’.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Max leads. Milan first. They win 2-1 and overtake Inter, Napoli, and Roma. The difference is Leao. But La Viola rebel. Rafa is decisive: his brace cancels out Gosens’s opener. Pradè accuses: ‘The penalty for 2-1 is absurd, a huge VAR error’.”
