AC Milan entertain Genoa at San Siro tonight, and they are looking to make it three wins on the spin in Serie A.
Milan won their last game at home, closing out 2025 with a 3-0 victory over Verona, then they brought in the new year with a 1-0 win at Cagliari. Scoring four and not conceding seems to have marked a return to the kind of solidity Massimiliano Allegri wants.
However, tonight is another test against Daniele De Rossi’s side, and there is added pressure on. Juventus and Roma won on Tuesday to compact the table again, while Inter beat Parma last night to move four points clear for the time being, but Napoli dropped points.
Today’s front pages
Ahead of tonight’s fixture at the Meazza, the Italian newspapers have pointed out the importance of another win for Milan.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Inter escape. But Milan are on the attack. Allegri, with Leao and Pulisic up front, says: ‘Whoever gets 88 points wins the league’. They’ll face Genoa at San Siro to get back to within one point.”
Corriere dello Sport: “Inter too much. Milan tonight. Max one point off the top if they beat Genoa.”
Tuttosport: “Milan’s night. The big names are in to believe. Allegri must respond to Inter: Leao and Pulisic lead the assault on Genoa. And Maignan renews.”
QS: “Pulisic-Leao for a Diavolo always at the Max. Genoa test.”
