On the eve of Milan-Lecce, seeing as the Scudetto race is still very much on, Gazzetta dello Sport decided to highlight Massimiliano Allegri on the front page.
After the draws against Genoa and Fiorentina, many ruled Milan out of the Scudetto race. While that may prove to be correct still, Inter’s draw against Napoli means the Rossoneri are just three points behind their rivals. And today, the Nerazzurri have Udinese away from home.
In short, Allegri and his men are still in the running for the trophy. They have the second-best attack and defence in the league, which suggests the gaffer has found something that works, and points have been collected for 19 games straight.
As the Como game showed, it’s not always pretty from Milan but at the end of the day, to remain at the top of the standings, you just need to collect points.
