Gasperini states Milan stand in the way of first-place: “Have to hope for the others”

This weekend, AC Milan face another big test in Serie A, as they look to get three points against Roma at San Siro.

There is a lot on the line this weekend for Milan, whilst they come into the game in high spirits with a nine-game unbeaten run, they also face one of the best sides in Italy at the moment. So, it will not be an easy game for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

To add to this, he is also forced to contend with the possibility of changes once again, with more injuries challenging him and his squad currently. Rafael Leao is being monitored closely, whilst Santiago Gimenez is also struggling, it seems.

Gasperini’s faith

For Gian Piero Gasperini, it is a chance for his side to go top. Like the Rossoneri, it was a summer of change for the Giallorossi, but with seven wins so far this campaign, they are credible challengers for the Scudetto at least.

After his side beat Parma last night, the Italian spoke to DAZN, via MilanNews, about the upcoming fixtures.

“Yes, they’ve [the goals] changed because we were supposed to train tomorrow afternoon, but instead we moved it up tomorrow morning. Then we’ll train on Friday morning, Saturday afternoon, and then we’ll go to Milan on Sunday.

“To play the game, if we win, we’re definitely first, but if not, we’ll have to hope for the others too.”
