GdS: ‘2 gifts for the Diavolo’ – Milan want Jashari and Estupinan to join preseason tour

6 days ago 26

Ardon Jashari is closing in on a move to AC Milan, a report claims, while Massimiliano Allegri may also get a new left-back soon too.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), the happy ending is near. Club Brugge won the Belgian Super Cup without Jashari over the weekend, while Pervis Estupinan gave Rafael Leao a follow on Instagram.

Both Jashari and Estupinan could join the preseason tour of the Far East and Milan are pushing for this. If Brugge win even without their talented midfielder and Brighton already have a replacement left-back, it suggests the pieces are falling into place.

Jashari on the verge

Ardon’s fairytale is finally coming to fruition, and he has overcome numerous obstacles to reach Milan. First and foremost, Club Brugge’s resistance, which yesterday celebrated its first trophy of the season with new signing Ludovit Reis at midfield and a goal from midfielder Vanaken.

The midfield has thus reorganised, even though coach Nicky Hayen seems to be the last one to give up. Meanwhile, the Rossoneri’s pressure, and that of Jashari himself, seems to have worn down the Blauw-Zwart.

While Club Brugge had fiercely resisted the onslaught, they have now lowered their guard. Milan have put the wheels in motion and believe the deal can be finalised this week, with a view to sending the Swiss to Allegri.

The total investment will be €30m plus bonuses. Any expenditure exceeding €20m will require the signatures of president Paolo Scaroni and CEO Giorgio Furlani, who can do so remotely. Sporting director Tare, who had initially identified Jashari as the first midfield addition, is working in Milan.

Estupinan gets closer

At the same time, talks are ongoing for Brighton’s left-back Estupinan. The player has agreed to a four-year contract with Milan, with a salary of €2.5m net per year. More than the money, it’s the opportunity the Rossoneri are offering him, which is even more exciting than the Premier League.

Milan have stepped up their bid from €12m to €15m, excluding bonuses. The Rossoneri have only one limit: they won’t go above €20m. At the same time, the English club have shown some opening to reducing their original €23m price.

The Diavolo and Brighton are almost on the same page, ready to meet in the middle. Estupinan would thus be the new Theo: a 27-year-old Ecuadorian, with extensive experience in Spain before reaching 104 appearances in England, scoring five goals.

He shares Hernandez’s LaLiga past and attacking flair and arrives at Milan at the height of his professional maturity, with the ambition of making a name for himself among European fans. Currently, the only suitable left-back is Bartesaghi, but that could change soon.
