This season, AC Milan have held hope for the Scudetto thanks to their scheduling, mainly. Now, that could come into play.
So far, Milan have not really had an advantage from a lack of Europe, or the regular cups. However, we are now in the infamous business end of the season, and this is where an advantage could start to be formed.
Of course, Inter currently hold an eight-point lead over their rivals, but they may start to lose that with focus diluting.
Inter’s schedule to open Milan’s window
As Gazzetta dello Sport writes, Napoli may have now stepped back from the race, after their 2-2 draw against Roma at the weekend. So, it really leaves the Milanese clubs to have their own ‘private battle’.
Should the Rossoneri beat Como, the gap would be reduced to five points, which is certainly closeable, especially with the Derby della Madonnina still to play.
Before then, the Diavolo will play three times, against Como, Parma and then Cremonese. For the Nerazzurri, things are certainly more complicated, given they have the league, Europe and the Coppa Italia to contend with.

This week, they will face Bodo Glimt, travelling 4,000km and experiencing a completely different climate, which could certainly have an effect before the weekend’s game against Lecce.
Next week, they face Bodo again, this time at San Siro, then Genoa and finally Como in the cup. A hectic schedule, with difficulties possible and expected. All whilst the Diavolo will only have to travel 150km for their commitments.
Indeed, if there is an advantage, it will be shown now.
