GdS: ‘A maximum of €37m’ – how Milan have structured the Jashari bonuses

1 week ago 33

The signing of Ardon Jashari has finally been confirmed and AC Milan have got their man. Today, the structure of the deal has been looked into a little more.

There has been a lot said about Jashari and the move this summer. In fact, it has been two months of reports and rumours about situations. Now, though, it does not matter. Milan have got the target which they started the summer wanting.

Of course, there are elements of the deal that have been frustrating. However, the Rossoneri have not moved too much with their last bid from what was their ‘final offer’.

Bonuses broken down

So, the Diavolo will pay a ‘maximum’ of €37 million for the Swiss midfielder, with a base fee of €34m. There have been a lot of different suggestions about the price in the past few weeks, so it is understandable if you have lost track of the spending.

Gazzetta dello Sport, today, have broken things down of how the deal is structured. It starts with the first bonus, worth €1m. This will be triggered for a Champions League qualification in the first five years of Jashari’s time at the club, an easily unlockable part and pretty much a guarantee.

Then, there is another €1m if Milan win the Scudetto in the same period with Jashari. The final €1m will be unlocked if the club were to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

It is worth noting that the clauses cannot be triggered more than once, meaning Brugge will not get €15m if the Rossoneri achieve each bonus every year for the next five years.
