AC Milan will begin their new Serie A campaign in front of a sold-out San Siro as they welcome Cremonese, a report claims.
After 71,000 fans turned out for the Coppa Italia match against Bari on Sunday, La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Rossoneri fans were once again present for tomorrow night’s Serie A debut against Cremonese at 20:45 CEST.
Fans will once again flock to the stadium to see the first game of Massimiliano Allegri’s first match in charge. Over 75,000 tickets have been sold, including the 35,000 season ticket holders who decided to renew their memberships for home games.
Meanwhile, the protests by the Curva Sud Milano will continue. According to ANSA, approximately 40 fans – at the request of the relevant authorities – were not allowed to renew their season tickets in the Secondo Anello Blu where the ultras usually sit. However, the club has offered them the option to purchase season tickets in other sections.
In the pre-match press conference, Allegri was asked about the relationship with the fans, which needs repairing after last season’s results. His reply: “We have to be good at encouraging them, with technical performances but above all as a team, grabbing victories inch by inch. Then the stadium will really help us.”
