AC Milan must evaluate the best course of action for Lorenzo Torriani’s future, especially given he is attracting interest from abroad.

A lot of the headlines at the moment surrounding Milan are about the captain and starting goalkeeper Mike Maignan and whether he will renew his contract. There are more optimistic reports circulating about the possibility of him extending his deal beyond the end of the season.

Torriani in demand

As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, Milan must also consider the best path for Torriani. The 20-year-old goalkeeper is playing for Milan Futuro and is currently not set for a loan (perhaps in Serie B) in January.

It’s likely he’ll stay with the Rossoneri and discuss with the club in the summer the best solution for a future together. Arsenal are very interested, after Torriani played a great friendly against the Gunners this summer, saving three penalties.

However, for Milan, the Gunners are not a concrete threat at the moment. Given his age and his obvious potential, there’s plenty of time to think and plan the right course of action.

As a reminder, last summer – before acquiring Dominik Greif from Real Mallorca for €4m – Lyon knocked on Milan’s door for Torriani at the specific request of Paulo Fonseca. However, their attempts were rebuffed.
