GdS: Atalanta accelerate for Musah – deal could be agreed within 48 hours

Atalanta have resolved internal doubts and have decided to try sign Yunus Musah from AC Milan in the final part of the window.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) confirms that Atalanta will accelerate their pursuit of Musah. Negotiations with the Rossoneri have been ongoing for a few days, and we have entered the waiting phase after the initial discussions on offer and demand.

Where things stand

Milan’s starting valuation is around €30m, while Atalanta could aim to close for around €25m. In short, the gap is so small that it’s reasonable to expect the deal to close positively within the next 24-48 hours.

Given that we’ve entered the final ten days of the summer transfer window, time is running out. This is also because Musah has already made it clear he’s happy with the destination, as knows he’ll have more playing time in Bergamo than in Milan.

Massimiliano Allegri is still a factor though: the Milan coach still considers Musah a valuable asset due to his flexibility and a great example for the team due to his hard work and dedication. These are qualities which also led to La Dea wanting him.

His versatility allows him to play both in the two-man midfield and on the right flank in a 3-4-2-1. However, his potential acquisition would be primarily intended to add physicality and pace to central areas. The American would be a regular rotation partner with Ederson and Marten de Roon.
