GdS: Atalanta want Musah – the figure that could tempt Milan and Allegri’s stance

AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah has attracted interest this summer from several clubs, and Atalanta are the latest suitors.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ivan Juric is looking for a physical and versatile midfielder, with Musah ticking those boxes. The American has become ‘the hot idea of the moment’ and a move could be made after tying up deals for Zalewski and Krstović.

A late move for Musah?

If a figure of around €25m were to be offered for Musah – a figure not far from what Napoli were reportedly willing to pay at the start of the transfer window – then Milan would be forced to reflect on things.

More recently, Nottingham Forest made inquiries and spoke with Musah, but never made a concrete bid and so things were left in limbo. The key now is to understand what Milan will decide to do, having made significant changes in midfield.

With Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari, Samuele Ricci, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Youssouf Fofana already in the squad, Musah could risk having very limited playing time. However, Allegri in particular greatly appreciates his professionalism and versatility, and his word could be vital.

Firstly though, before a decision is made either way, Atalanta have to formulate an offer that the management are happy to accept, which has not happened yet.
