GdS: Boniface in hot water over enigmatic social post – a ‘sigh of relief’ for Allegri and Milan

There might just be some relief inside the AC Milan ranks that they did not end up signing Victor Boniface this summer.

The Rossoneri were on the verge of signing Boniface towards the end of the window, but called things off after not getting sufficient guarantees from his medical. In the end the striker headed to Werder Bremen, and he has since tried to absolve himself of blame regarding his failed Milan move.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have published a report titled: ‘The thinker Boniface, the cow, and the carrot. And Allegri’s sigh of relief.’ The other day, on Instagram, Boniface posted a strange message: “Life is a shoe. You can’t drink from a cow, because the earth is a carrot.”

It ‘gave the Werder Bremen management a migraine’, so much so that they ‘summoned their centre-forward to the club headquarters to demand an explanation’. He doesn’t appear to have offered one, and so the meaning behind it remains in his brain.

If Boniface had come to Milan, then it would have been up to Massimiliano Allegri and his staff to try and work out a complex character. The impression is that Allegri ‘prefers Nkunku’s balloon’ and that – as a thinker within the squad – Luka Modric is more than enough for him.
