GdS: Brown, Doue and Jackson – Milan have next mercato moves in mind

1 week ago 46

The first pre-season friendlies are not that far away for AC Milan and as such, Igli Tare is keen on making some key additions before then. From Brown to Jackson, he has several targets in mind.

As reported in today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan are well aware that the defence must be fixed as soon as possible, following Theo Hernandez’s departure. In addition to the left-back role, a reinforcement is also needed for the opposite side.

Archie Brown is the main candidate to replace Hernandez, with a price tag of around €10m, and Milan are banking on the player’s yes to overtake Fenerbahce in the race. The goal of Tare is to have the Englishman in the team for the trips to Asia and Australia in eight days.

Then, a new offer is also expected for Strasbourg’s Guela Doue after the first €15m bid was rejected by the French side. In any case, the work in defence isn’t stopping Milan from working on the attack, with Nicolas Jackson, Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Boniface on the radar.

Brown and Doue for the flanks

Brown, who is the main candidate for the left-back role, came through the academy of Derby County before moving to Switzerland, more specifically to Lausanne. Gent then came knocking, where he quickly established himself and became a starter in 2024-25.

Knowing that his growth has been impressive, the Belgian side are hoping to spark a mini-bidding war, asking for €10m as opposed to the €8-9m offer by Fenerbahce. Milan are offering a little less than the double digits, but having the yes of the player is what they hope will be enough.

In short, Milan are trying to close the deal as soon as possible, but an eye must be kept on the competition here. Once the left-back is sorted, the Rossoneri will move to the opposite side, where Doue is the primary target.

The first offer of €15m was rejected by Strasbourg and Milan are ready to table a new one. Marc Pubill remains an alternative, but he’s not a concrete lead for now. Monaco’s Vanderson has also been monitored, but he’s considered out of reach price-wise.

Jackson hypothesis grows

Up front, Milan want a striker to partner Santiago Gimenez for the upcoming season. Chelsea’s Jackson has become one of the top targets for the Rossoneri, alongside Vlahovic and Boniface, despite the fact that the figures would be high.

Jackson’s entourage is working on a solution, as the player has fallen out of favour at Chelsea, but the latter are asking for €45m as things stand. Milan have expressed an interest through intermediaries and they have time on their side, in no rush to secure a No.9 by tomorrow.
