GdS: Chelsea, Bayern and Juventus eyeing opportunity to sign Milan captain

Juventus are ready to try and snatch Mike Maignan from AC Milan, but they face competition for the free transfer opportunity.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are looking for two things. The first is a new starting goalkeeper for the future, and the second is some experience and leadership to add to their squad. They believe that Maignan ticks both boxes, and with his deal expiring they are studying a move.

Juve are interested in the Frenchman therefore, but they’re not the only big club sniffing out the opportunity to snap up a world-class goalkeeper, especially one at the end of his contract meaning no transfer fee would be needed.

The ever-present Chelsea already attempted to make a move this summer, but were forced to surrender to Milan and Massimiliano Allegri’s brick wall. They seem to be keen on revisiting a move, given no goalkeeper ended up arriving.

More recently, Bayern Munich have expressed interest in signing Maignan. Without a renewal – and all the signs point to a split with Milan – the former Lille player will be free to choose the club he wants to join for free at the start of 2026. He could then sign a contract which would kick in on July 1st.
