AC Milan recently sent a delegation to study Everton’s new home, the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as the San Siro plans are progressing according to plan.
After getting the green light from the city council for the sale of San Siro last year, Milan have since been working on the bureaucracy and paperwork they need to get through. Meanwhile, Foster+Partners and Manica are working on the design of the new stadium.
In addition to the above, however, Milan and Inter have also begun to study some of the top clubs in Europe. How can they best monetise the stadium? What can you do to increase revenue on non-matchdays? How can the fan experience be enhanced? Indeed, there is a lot to be inspired by.
Why Milan visited Everton’s stadium
According to The Times (via Gazzetta dello Sport), Milan recently sent a delegation to Liverpool to visit Everton’s new stadium, namely the Hill Dickinson Stadium. They watched the game against Tottenham on February 10, per the report.

In addition to the actual construction of the stadium, Milan also wanted to gather information on all of the additional benefits that usually come with a modern stadium: general operations, VIP lounges, hospitality, space for broadcasters and the fan experience.
In short, Milan want to find out as much as they can about all aspects of the stadium, which is why the delegation consisted of five people from the club. Everton’s stadium is just one of many study visits, though, just as the Rossoneri have already been inspired by Tottenham’s new stadium.
